"Drink Wisconsinbly" Pub Opens Wednesday in Walker's Point
A new bar-restaurant in Walker's Point celebrates all things Wisconsin. The corner pub, Drink Wisconsinbly, opens Wednesday.
Two local men created the "Drink Wisconsinbly" brand three years ago, and it has since taken off. Now, the brand's t-shirts and pint glasses can be found across the country. The pair had a dream to open a corresponding pub someday, and the right opportunity presented itself with the former owners of "Blue Jacket."
“You’ll see all kinds of little touches that remind us of everything we love about Wisconsin,” said brand founder and now restaurant partner Ryan Dolan.
Reclaimed wood from a barn in Northern Wisconsin adorns the walls and the bar. There are vintage lampshades hanging above every booth, and there's a mural taking up an entire wall that depicts a lake near The Dells. You'll also find a deer leg lamp. As for the menu, the bar features beer from around Wisconsin, and almost all of the food is locally sourced.
"All of the sausages come from Roberts Meats out in Waukesha. Our cheese curds comes from Roelli's creamery. The beef comes from a farm up in Manitowoc. It’s a great way for us to show off all the awesome stuff that’s being made in the state," said Dolan.
Another unique feature is the SoulBoxer Old Fashioned Bubbler.
"You put your glass right up to it, and it will give you the perfect Old Fashioned right away," said Dolan.
The only thing the bar doesn't have, is any reference to any of Wisconsin's bordering states. Well, except for a few small details.
“You will find one thing from Illinois. It’s a Bears mat where you can wipe your feet," said Dolan.
Drink Wisconsinbly is located at 135 E. National Avenue. It's open daily at 4 p.m. Click here for more information.
