Dr. Whiteside's body found in Door County

Door County Sheriff’s Office believe they have found the body of Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside on an uninhabited part of Township of Liberty Grove.
The body was found in German Road on July 22 at 12:20 PM.
A .22 caliber gun was found near the body and it doesn't appear that he was moved to the scene, according to WFRV.
Clothing and personal items also helped to identify the doctor. Authorities blocked off an area near the intersection of State 57 and German Road Wednesday night

The Headwaters Search and Rescue K-9 Group conducted a search and located the human remains. The remains were found among some trees on an uninhabited parcel off of German Road.
Deputies arrived and secured the area. The State Crime lab was contacted to assist with processing the scene. A search warrant was obtained for the property.
Preliminary indication suggests that the remains are that of the missing doctor based on the clothing and personal property.
A positive ID, cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.
