DPW releases 2019 Dockless Scooter Pilot Study

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works has released its 2019 Dockless Scooter Pilot Study.

The pilot ran from July 23 2019 through Dec. 31 2019. Its purpose was to observe, solicit feedback on, and evaluate the effectiveness of dockless scooters in the city of Milwaukee.

The 60-page report provides the results of the survey along with the pilot's background, results, and findings, goals analysis, and recommendations for 2021.

According to officials, DPW is recommending the city issue a new pilot study to begin in spring 2021. The 20201 pilot study will include key changes, including reconfiguration zones and fleet sizes. The full set of recommendations and final terms and conditions for 2021 will be finalized in the coming months, according to officials. Input of elected officials, residents and scooter operations will be included.
