DPW ready for weekend weather

MILWAUKEE- It's been a busy week for the DPW, they've been on rotation since early Thursday dealing with this freezing rain and now they have more weather to look forward to.

They say they already have their plan prepared and drivers on alert for the weekend.

For 2013, the DPW a $7.9 million budget and they've already topped that.

CBS 58 was told they are at about $8.5 million and likely rising with this weekend's anticipated weather.

They said most of the money was spent on icy conditions that require lots of road salt.

The DPW explained that just because they're over budget that does not mean they will cut back on plowing or salting.

Fortunately for them, the new budget cycle will kick in on January 1st.
