MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Opening presents is one of the best parts of Christmas for children but for many that doesn't always happen.
On Wednesday, Dec. 23, community organization "We Got This" -- located near 9th and Ring in Milwaukee -- was busy collecting gifts for children in need. It's a simple goal made all the more important because of the pandemic.
"Many children in this area may not have a Christmas so on Christmas Eve we want to make sure that every child over here -- and everywhere else that we can reach -- can open a gift on Christmas Eve," said Andre Lee Ellis, with We Got This.
Organizers say this was one of the biggest drives to-date, but don't let that discourage you from donating. The toys will be handed out Thursday, Dec. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but you can still donate toys and other gifts during that time as well.
