Douglas County DA says no immediate charges coming for Jake Patterson in Closs kidnapping

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Douglas County District Attorney's Office said in a release Friday that it does not anticipate filing a criminal complaint against Jake Patterson "in the immediate future."

The DA said in the announcement that the decision whether or not to file charges involves, "the consideration of multiple factors, including the existence of other charges and victim-related concerns."

The DA said it could still file criminal charges within the statute of limitations.

Patterson has been charged in Barron County with the kidnapping of 13-year-old Jayme Closs from her home and killing her two parents.

Charges from Douglas County would include any crimes committed while Jayme Closs was being held in Patterson's home.
