Door County deputies find broken headlight replaced with flashlight during traffic stop

DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Door County Sheriff's Office encountered some 'creative' problem-solving during a traffic stop Friday night, Dec. 6.

Deputies stopped a car for speeding on State Highway 42 and found the car missing the driver side headlight and in its place was a flashlight!

The flashlight was pointed forwards and there was an attempt to increase the visibility as well.

The Door County Sheriff's Office wants to remind the public that such practice is not safe or legal, and that a flashlight is not a good replacement for a proper headlight.

Please check to make sure that your equipment is functioning properly before traveling!
