MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Deer District transformed into "dog district" on Saturday, April 12 as Doggy Day returned for its fourth year.
There were nearly 90 local vendors, food trucks and activities for all pups to enjoy.
Doggy Day is a fundraiser benefitting Winston's Wishes -- a nonprofit helping local dogs in need.
"We pull dogs directly from MADDAC who are shutting down in the shelter environment, who aren't doing well there, who are senior dogs or need extra medical care. We help them find their happily ever after," said Jake Schneider, founder of Winston's Wishes.
Organizers say their year is extra special as they are honoring the dog behind their organization: Winston. They say he recently died.
