Dodge County sheriff, DNR investigating serious snowmobile crash on Sinissippi Lake

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities are investigating a serious snowmobile crash that happened on Sinissippi Lake in the village of Hustisford overnight. 

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says it happened around 12:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28. 

The sheriff's office received a report of a snowmobiler who appeared to be traveling south on Sinissippi Lake when they struck an embankment and the driver was ejected into the back yard of a nearby residence. 

The driver and sole occupant was identified as a 42-year-old man from Kenilworth, Illinois. He sustained serious injuries and was flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Assisting at the crash scene was the Hustisford Fire Department, Hustisford EMS, Mayville EMS, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Flight for Life.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
