Doctor Indicted in Overdose Death of Former Three Doors Down Member in West Bend

A doctor from Alabama was charged in the overdose death of the Three Doors Down band member that died in West Bend.

It was back on Saturday, August 20th, 2016 the West Bend Police Department investigated the death of 38 year old Matthew Roberts at the Hampton Inn.

Matthew Roberts was visiting from Spanish Fort, Alabama.

He was a former member of the band Three Doors Down.

He was in West Bend to play with a local band at a charity function. 
The cause of death was determined to be a prescription drug related overdose.

West Bend Police said they learned the source of the drugs was from Alabama.

West Bend Police worked in cooperation with authorities from the Mobile Alabama Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Alabama.

The prescription drugs that caused Mr. Robert’s death had been obtained from a physician in Fairhope, Alabama. 

On Wednesday, November 16, Dr. Richard Snellgrove, of Fairhope Alabama was indicted for Illegal Drug Distribution in relation to the death of Mr. Roberts.
