Do Tornado Drills Really Matter?

Annual tornado drills have been around for decades, but now, some are questioning if they need to continue.

Even folks within the National Weather Service are posing the question.  Some are wondering if we are adequately testing all the various methods of sending out warnings.  Not to mention it's hard tracking this kind of data as well.

Recently, the city of St. Louis, Missouri opted out of the drill at the last minute since city officials didn't needlessly want to disturb people on any given day.

On the flip side, there are those who say practice makes perfect.  In other words, any opportunity you have to improve your weather safety skills is crucial and maybe lifesaving.  Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin begins April 13 and continues through April 17.
