(CBS 58) -- Dr. Donald Gundlach with Dental Associates joined CBS 58 to share tips and tricks for dealing with kids’ teeth and Halloween candy.
Tips include:
- Brushing and flossing more
- Drinking water after eating candy
- Eating fun-size treats
Dentists also warn parents to beware of sticky and gummy candies that can get caught in teeth, sour and acidic candies that can break down tooth enamel and hard candies that stay in the mouth for a long time.
Gundlach said better candies for teeth include chocolate and sugar-free options.
