Waukesha man charged with murder of his girlfriend after her body was found by construction crew in Delafield

DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) --A Waukesha man has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend one year after a construction crew found her body in the town of Delafield. 

55-year-old Matthew Pahl is charged with first degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. 

According to a criminal complaint, Pahl was in an-on-and off relationship with the victim. The body was significantly decomposed by a wooded area. Surveillance video shows the victim and Pahl leaving their apartment on Aug. 23, 2022. 

The Medical Examiner determined the victim died the same day but is not sure how she died.

Pahl is in jail on a bond of $2 million. 

He will be back in court for a primary hearing, Sept. 29, 2023.
