Death Investigation Ongoing at Kenosha's Simmons Island Park

UPDATE: Kenosha Police Department responded with the Kenosha Fire Department to the 4500 block of Kennedy Drive in reference to a brush fire. 

When the fire was extinguished officers located a burned body believed to be that of an adult male. 

The Medical Examiner was notified and the body has yet to be identified. 

Kenosha Police said they do not believe there is a danger to the public and the incident remains under investigation.

ORIGINAL: Kenosha Police Department were at Simmons Island Park in Kenosha Wednesday morning after a body was found.

At this time, police are calling the incident a "death investigation" and are investigating if it is a homicide or suicide. 

The death was reported after a fire at 45th Street and Kennedy Drive.
