WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The Department of Children and Families (DCF) met with one of the recipients of the Child Care Counts and Partner Up! grant program Wednesday.
They came together to talk about access to affordable child care services.
DCF Secretary Emilie Amundson made three stops, including at Tabak Law in Milwaukee.
Amundson says they plan to keep the grant program going long-term with the support from the state, employers and employees.
Governor Tony Evers expressed interest in investing in the program in his 2023 budget.
"Across the board, we are seeing that businesses want to work with early care and education providers to provide these kinds of benefits and supports for their employees," said Amundson.
The program is just one way employers are able to recruit and retain high quality staff in Wisconsin's declining workforce.
