MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- All week, downtown employees are being treated to events and perks. It's all part of Downtown Employee Appreciation Week. Day two kicked off with a large coffee break. A handful of coffee shops from around the city came to Catalano Square in the Third Ward to give employees the boost they need to get through their day.
Hundreds of workers took the coffee break out of the office. They were able to mingle with coworkers and people from other businesses. Plus, they filled up on coffee, cold brew, donuts and Belgian waffles.
"This time of day, I'd probably be getting some coffee, probably catching up on emails, starting my tasks for the day."
"Downtown workers are taking a coffee break out of the office," said Melissa Variny.
"I'm normally sitting at my desk drinking hot chocolate or something," said Kristen Kennedy.
On Tuesday they were outside enjoying fresh air and interaction to get their day started.
"It's nice to be outside," said Mason Breitzke. "It's really breaking up the day. It's lovely weather."
Milwaukee's largest coffee break was hosted by the Historic Third Ward Association. There are multiple events and giveaways that are planned for the rest of the week.
