Dangerous cold not keeping folks from holiday tradition

MILWAUKEE-Cathedral Square with its Christmas Trees decorated in lights and homemade decorations from local school children still a favorite spot, even in the bitter cold.

On Monday as the temperatures plummeted folks dressed for the weather, grabbed closely to family and friends and some carried hot drinks.

Here's the holiday forecast from First Alert Chief Meteorologist Mark McGinnis:

Tonight:  Light snow showers taper off with a dusting of accumulation.  Skies clear and temperatures drop into the single digits below zero inland and to 0 in Milwaukee.  Wind chills are -5 to -15 through the night.

Christmas Eve:  Mostly sunny skies are forecast with high temps of 12 to 16.  Clouds increase late in the day with a light wind shifting to the south in the afternoon.

Christmas through the end of the Week:  A clipper storm arrives with light snow Tuesday night into Christmas morning.  It looks light with 1-3\" of fluffy snow possible.  Christmas day is dry with highs in the mid to upper 20's.  Colder air moves in Thursday with a high near 16 under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.  Friday is partly cloudy with highs in the teens to low 20's.  Saturday warms into the upper 20's to low 30's under partly cloudy skies.
