MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Small business owners in the area sat down with Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley after receiving grant money to help fund their brick-and-mortar stores.
Crowley launched his Building Bridges program to provide support to local businesses in Milwaukee.
Friday morning, he met with the first group of small business owners who received $10,000 in grant money for their business.
Crowley says he hopes this program is just the start of more local developments.
"To help them with many of their upgrades for infrastructure, but we're also helping to provide that technical assistance," Crowley said. "Making sure that we can help them throughout the process of this entrepreneur experience."
Some business owners spoke about how the grant money helped unexpected costs so they could move forward with their plans.
