MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley presented a proclamation Monday, Sept. 29 to staff at FM 102.1 in Milwaukee, recognizing nearly two decades of dedication to independent and alternative music.
The alternative rock station will soon transition to a contemporary Christian format following its sale.
Crowley explained why he wanted to formally acknowledge the station’s cultural role.
"They’ve contributed incredibly to their culture being able to bring artists from all over the globe right here to Milwaukee and really being there to uplift not Milwaukee County but also residents all across southeastern Wisconsin," Crowley said.
Parent company Milwaukee Radio Alliance sold FM 102.1 and its sister station, B93.3 FM, to the Christian radio chain K-LOVE in a $4 million deal last month.
