MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Democratic governor candidate David Crowley on Tuesday, Sept. 29 fielded questions about his plans and his fundraiser set for Monday in California. 

"I never know how much I raise, man," Crowley said. "Honestly, I just fundraise. I never count it, nor do I spend it."

Crowley took questions at a Milwaukee appearance Tuesday morning. When asked about the trip to California for an event that reportedly included former Vice President Kamala Harris, he said he'll talk to everybody about the importance of Wisconsin. 

Crowley was also asked how he would pay for his plans to lift Wisconsin families, and that's when he lashed out at his opponent and the president.

"When you look at what Congressman Tom Tiffany and Donald Trump are doing, they're peeing on us and telling us it's raining," Crowley said. "It's time for us to fight back and make sure that we're doing everything that we can to speak truth to power and undo the hurt and pain they have caused Wisconsin families."

We reached out to Tom Tiffany's campaign, and received the following response from Tiffany:

"My number one priority is making sure people have more money in their pockets to pay for groceries, bills, and their future. That’s why we’re going to lower property taxes, return the $3 billion state surplus to the people of Wisconsin, and cut income taxes by 10% for working families. David Crowley has no way to pay for his plans without taking more of your paycheck and raising taxes. He doesn’t want to be honest with Wisconsinites and tell them he’ll raise their taxes, just as he has every year in Milwaukee County."
