MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A road rage incident led to a near death experience for a Milwaukee driver, and investigators say you may have the information they need to arrest the shooter.
"When somebody shoots into a car like that, and then that person...the car that gets shot into often times crashes," said Detective Raena Vrtochnick, with the Milwaukee Police Department.
Surveillance video from July 27, around 1:20 p.m., shows a four-door Ford Focus. Detectives say the person driving the car shot another man who confronted him for swerving in traffic.
The victim pulled over the caution the man about his driving on 51st and Burleigh, and they say the driver of the Focus pulled out a gun and shot him multiple times.
The victim's two children were in the car and witnessed the shooting. They then rode in the car with their father as he drove himself to the hospital.
The suspect drove off.
"It happened in broad daylight and with these very small kids in the car, and even though they're not physically hurt, I can't imagine the trauma of being in a vehicle where somebody gets shot and drives to the hospital and I can't imagine," Det. Vrtochnick said.
Officials say the suspect's vehicle appears to have front end damage to the passenger side.
