MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A horrible act of violence on a Tuesday morning at a Milwaukee park. Someone physically and sexually assaulted a 73-year-old woman.
It happened on May 5, at Kern Park on Humboldt Boulevard. The woman told police she was just taking a morning walk around 9 a.m., when a man suddenly came out of nowhere, pushed her down, sexually assaulted her and then ran off with her purse.
Police believe others may have seen what happened that day, and are urging them to come forward.
"We believe that there were other people out there that may have saw something either that day or even the days before or after this happened. If you have a Ring doorbell or surveillance on your house that's kind of near where this happened and the police have not already contacted you, please let us know," said MPD Captain Craig Sarnow.
If you know anything about this assault in Kern Park off Humboldt Boulevard, you're asked to call Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS. Your call is always anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest you could get a cash reward.
