Crews work long hours to fill tire popping potholes

WEST ALLIS -- It doesn't take much to find a pothole in Milwaukee or surrounding areas, but finding the time to make repairs has public works crews working long hours to keep up.

In West Allis, crews are working 16 hour days to fill potholes, and officials say the freeze-thaw cycle makes the process more difficult.

Potholes aren't the only thing in need of repair.

As crews work endlessly to fill the troublesome street craters, local mechanics say they've been flooded with calls from drivers with damaged vehicles and tires, a result of Wisconsin's cruel winter.

Mechanics say repairs can average between $60 to $200 to fix.
