Crews search Kenosha County lake for missing Illinois man

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Rescue crews will return to Silver Lake September 17 to begin recovery efforts for 66-year-old John Spoor, an Illinois resident, who went missing on the lake September 16.

Authorities say the fisherman's family called police after he didn't return home from a fishing trip on Silver Lake. Investigators found his empty boat on the lake and his car parked near the lake.

Crews have been working for multiple days to find Spoor. Silver Lake is over 500 acres, but the search has been focused on the north side of the lake.

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said conditions are perfect for searching since it's sunny and calm.

Family members are waiting at the scne for any new information.
