Crews across southeast Wisconsin working hard to clear roads during first snowstorm of season
CBS 58 MUKWONAGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Most people in Wisconsin are used to winter storms, however, the storm that hit our area over this holiday weekend was significant for crews across southeast Wisconsin currently working to clear the roads.
People in Mukwonago say it's been a while since a November snow had this much of an impact, especially on a weekend with so many people traveling for Thanksgiving.
CBS 58 reporter Kathryn Merck was right off Highway 43 in Mukwonago, where cars on Rochester Street could be seen taking it extra slow as they have been sliding due to the slippery conditions.
All Seasons Facility Maintenance, a woman-owned business near Mukwonago is working to clear the roads from places like the Signature Flight Airport and large grocery stores in the area. President Morgan Ferrari says her crews are having to adjust due to more people traveling.
“Daytime storms like this are very hard, because the snow gets compacted, because everybody’s driving on it," Ferrari said. "So, we’ll see what it looks like after we plow everything, there might be some compacted snow issues, even on the freeway and the roads I think because people are driving on it.”
For anyone planning on running an errand Saturday afternoon, make sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get there safely.
