Credit Card Skimmer Found at Franklin Gas Station

If you bought gas at a 7-Eleven in Franklin, check your bank statement.

A state inspector found a credit card skimmer on a gas pump off South 76th and West Rawson.

These devices have been popping up at gas pumps around the area.

Thieves attach little boxes to card readers at the pump in order to duplicate the number sequences.

If you did not go to this specific station, it still serves as a good reminder to check your statement.

Franklin Police are giving out red tags to owners to place on their pumps. They'll help you spot a pump that's been tampered with.

Before you pump, police say to check for a red seal. If the words "void open" appear across the tag, go to a different pump, or just pay inside.
