County property vacated?

Milwaukee County - County supervisors will have to decide whether or not to vacate a property located at the corner of 27th and Wells in Milwaukee's Avenues West neighborhood. According to the Milwaukee County Economic Development Director, only 40,000 of the 200,000 square feet is being used for 200 County employees. It's costing the County between $700,000 and $1,000,000 extra each year to keep the building open.

City leaders want to make sure there is a plan to redevelop the property, if the County decides to vacate the property. Both County and City leaders are for investors, local residents, and business owners to present their ideas on the best way to redevelop the property. A final decision is expected in September.
