Could the public benefit from a new Bucks arena?

Milwaukee - The City of Milwaukee had the study done last year to see if using tax dollars to build a new sports arena would be beneficial. According to the study, sports venues are not good financial investments because of the \"substitution effect\". That means the everyday person doesn't increase their spending, they only change it.

CBS 58 also spoke with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. According to the association, the B-MO Harris Bradley Center supports a 73 million dollar payroll, 2300 jobs, and that's generated by 1.5 million people who spend money in the downtown area. The association maintains if the Milwaukee Bucks relocate, it could leave a huge hole in the City.
