Cooler by the lake season is officially kicking into high gear. An easterly wind will hold temps in the low 40s lakeside today with highs near 50 closer to south central WI.
While we'll generally be a few degrees cooler lakeside for the next few days, temps in general will go on a nice warming trend into next week! Lake breeze develops Saturday, capping highs in the mid 50s lakeside while inland spots reach the low 60s. Low to mid 60s are expected Easter Sunday into Monday before high warm into the 70s during the middle of next week.
Normal highs this time of year are in the low 50s, and it looks like we'll stay warmer than that through next weekend as well. The 6 to 10 day temperature outlook gives us an 80% chance for above normal temps.
Not only will temps be on a warming trend after today, we'll be mainly dry for the next week as well. There an isolated chance Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties are clipped by some light showers/flurries tonight into early Saturday as a warm front lifts north.
Other than that, we don't have any measurable rain in the forecast until next weekend. We could definitely use this warm, dry stretch to dry out. Through today, Milwaukee has been experiencing the 3rd wettest start to the year on record, only trailing 1881 and 1876.
