Construction zone crash shuts down I-43 southbound in Glendale

GLENDALE -- One person has been taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on I-43 southbound in Glendale.

Officials with the North Shore Fire Department said one person was removed from the vehicle, which crashed in a construction zone on I-43 southbound near Daphne Road.

I-43 southbound is closed and all traffic is being pushed off at Good Hope Road, just north of the crash, as emergency responders work to clear the scene. Motorists can reenter the highway at Silver Spring Drive. 

There's no immediate word on what caused the crash.
