MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Congressman Bryan Steil (R-WI) wants US Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate the Kenosha riots.
In a letter to Barr, Steil, whose congressional district includes Kenosha, wants an investigation into the funding and leadership structure of criminal groups, especially those from outside the city and state of Wisconsin.
"We need to get to the root cause of what led to the criminal activity in the community of Kenosha," Rep. Steil said. "One piece of that is individuals that came from out of the area and out of state that were organized, that appeared to have leadership, that appeared to have outside funding. We need answers and we need that so we can prevent this from ever happening again."
He added that he will continue working with federal, state and local partners to prevent riots and destruction from happening in Kenosha and other cities across the nation.
