Confrontation leads to gunfire

In what is described as a confrontation between two individuals lead to gunfire and the wounding of a Milwaukee woman Thursday night.  According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the confrontation occurred in grocery store near W Fond du Lac and W Hampton Avenues  around 7 PM Thursday.  During the incident, one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired shots striking a 47-year-old woman.  She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Around 10:10 Thursday night, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man was shot while on the street near N 63rd Street and W Florist Avenue.  According to the Milwaukee Police, the man was walking to his car when he was approached by another individual.  The suspect then produced a gun and for some unknown reason, shot the victim.   The Milwaukee Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The MPD is searching for the suspects in both of the shootings.
