Competency exam ordered for Cudahy beating suspect

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee man charged for the attacks outside Jen's Sweet Treats bake shop in Cudahy will be tested for his mental fitness.

Fredrick Blackshire is accused of beating 75-year-old Art Baker and bakery owner Jen Clark and injuring a police officer on Sunday, April 28.

He was described in a criminal complaint as uncooperative with police. In court today, his attorney argued that Blackshire is not competent to proceed and the court ordered an examination. The doctor's report is due on May 20.
