Community Raises Funds to Keep Fireworks Show Alive

CBS58-- The Pewaukee fireworks show went off without a hitch, thanks to support from the community.

Businesses and residents raised the $15,000 needed to fund the display.

"Weeks ago, when we knew there was an issue with funding for this event, we put some buckets out for our customers," said Brenda Blumberg, manager of The Chocolate Factory.

For the last several years it’s been up to the community to raise the money needed to put on the show. This year it came down to the wire, but businesses and residents stepped up.

"I think it just makes us invest more in to our community," said Michelle Posey, who attended the fireworks with her family. "I think it makes us more cognizant of who we are as a neighborhood and a village."
