He was just 23 years old.
His family says he was driving his prized Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on Highway 31 to work Tuesday when a 69 year old woman struck him while making a left turn onto Highway 38.
\"He was a hugger,\" his father Jacob recalled. \"A very loving guy and I will miss those hugs and those kisses on my cheek. He did not hesitate to say I love you.\"
On Friday night they held a fundraiser at the \"Suds and Grubs\" for his two year old son.
\"It was such a joy to see my son grow into the wonderful father he was,\" recalled his mother Robin. \"I was so looking forward to watching him grow as a father.\"
As his loved ones struggle with the loss, they are bolstered in a way by the show of community support and hope ultimately others will learn to be careful on the roads, especially with the warmer months and the increase in motorcycles that will be out there.
