MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County officials are making sure everyone gets the chance to spend the final few weeks of summer at a newly remodeled county park.
Vogel Park's new playground cost roughly $278,000, a remodel County Executive David Crowley says was necessary.
It replaces the old playground which was 25 years old. The park now has new pathways, benches and bike racks.
Crowley says parks are a crucial part of a healthy community and it's important the county continues to invest in them.
"Our parks provide that safe space, provide that mental and physical refuge for people to come and be able to enjoy," he said.
Crowley says people can help invest in the county parks by spending time and money in their community.
