MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee is one small step closer to getting a pair of new concert venues at Deer District.
It's controversial, but it may be coming. We're talking about a complex that includes two halls, one with room for 800 people, the other with room for 4,000.
A Common Council committee approved a zoning change Tuesday, Oct. 25 that would allow construction of the halls.
The full council votes next week on the project.
Live Nation and the Bucks are pushing for the concert halls, but other venues are trying to block them.
A couple months ago, a petition from a group called Save Milwaukee's Music Scene got more than 2,500 signatures.
