The humidity finally dropped at the beginning of the week and now high temperatures are following suit. On Monday almost all of southeast Wisconsin still saw highs in the low 80s. It was our 12th day in a row of at hitting at least 80* which included a stretch of 4 straight days in the 90s. Seeing this many 80s in a row is not uncommon - last year we had 15 days in a row above 80. But seeing this many 80+ days in a row at the beginning of June is. This is the longest streak of warm weather this early in the season on record.
But our warm streak is ending with most of southeast Wisconsin topping out in the 70s today thanks to a northeast breeze. Mid 70s are expected lakeside with a few upper 70s or near 80* inland. We will copycat that forecast for Wednesday but Thursday and Friday are warmer with highs in the 80s before cooling back down in the 70s.
Along with the cooler temps, the humidity will stay low in the comfy and pleasant categories through Wednesday. The dew points come back up for Thursday with some noticeable humidity.
The temperature trend for next week is also favoring cooler temps. Right now we have a 40% chance for below-average temps with highs in the 70s in the forecast.
