Coldest air since March is coming for next week

The weather has been relatively quiet over the last couple of weeks with minimal winter weather.  That is set to change early next week as a very strong cold front brings not only winter weather, but the coldest air since March!

Next week a batch of arctic air will head south and sit over us for Tuesday and Wednesday.  It's not going to linger or set records; however, we are expecting the coldest air to hit on Wednesday with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits.  The last time it was this cold was March 11th with a high of 11 degrees.

Before the cold arrives we are watching a mix of rain and snow to arrive on Monday and eventually change to all snow late Monday into Tuesday.  The long range models are going back and forth on the timing; however, it does appear that some accumulating snow is possible.

Stay tuned!
