Coldest air of the season is coming next week!

As a whole October has been pretty nice!  The month started out with a few 80s which was above normal.  Generally highs in the 50s dominated the month, with only a few days with highs in the 40s.

November is a month that features a lot of extremes across southeastern Wisconsin.  Record highs remain in the 70s; however, the cold air can come in quickly out of Canada.

Meteorologists use several long-range models to help forecast the temperature trends.  In our office we tend to use the GFS and the EURO models to help track significant cold snaps.  Late next week a batch of that cold air spills across the Midwest.  Both models are trending with very cold air for the season.  When they both line up we have to take the trend seriously.

Highs would be in the 30s with lows in the 20s for next Thursday and Friday.  This would easily be the coldest air of the season.  Thankfully it's just cold air without any winter precipitation.
