MEQUON, WI (CBS 58) -- A malfunctioning railroad crossing gate is snarling traffic on Mequon Road just west of Homestead High School this morning.   According to the Mequon Police, the gate has been malfunctioning since 4 PM Friday and now it is in the down position, blocking traffic.    Officials believe the malfunction to be caused by the cold temperatures.    Police are rerouting traffic around the blocked crossing by sending traffic to N Cedarburg and Division Roads.  Mequon Police say crews from CN Railroad have been dispatched to repair the malfunctioning crossing gate.
