MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Helping the Special Olympics Wisconsin only required getting your morning coffee on Friday, Aug. 20. Dunkin' held its ninth annual "Coffee for Champions" fundraiser Friday morning, Aug. 20.
Special Olympics events resumed after the pandemic put everything on pause last year, but those competitions aren't free which is why fundraisers like these are so important.
"The cost to support one athlete for a year is $757 so we just really need everyone's support," Said Tyler Pouros, director of developments for Special Olympics.
Athletes, local officers and volunteers were out to help at 50 participating Dunkin' locations.
The money raised will help the Special Olympics host events across the state and support their leadership programs.
