Cobb placed on IR but 'designated for return'

GREEN BAY - Randall Cobb's injury turns out to be as bad as first feared.

The Packers have placed Cobb on injured reserve, but designated for return, with a broken fibula suffered in Sunday's win over the Ravens. The designation for return means that Cobb can be activated again in six weeks, but can't practice until that six week time frame has ended.

The Packers promotoed TE Jake Stoneburner and WR Myles White from the practice squad Tuesday.
