UPDATE: MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Department of Public Works employee is recovering after being hit by a reversing DPW vehicle.
According to DPW, the worker who was hit is currently conscious and in stable condition.
The crew was out conducting electrical repairs near 60th and Hampton when the accident happened.
The incident occurred on a roadway that was closed due to a rehabilitation project on the West Hampton Avenue Bridge although the crew involved was not part of the construction project.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee City employee was taken to the hospital after being run over.
Milwaukee Police say it appears that two city workers were working together and one didn't realize the other was behind him.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. near 60th and Hampton.
There is currently no word on the city worker's condition.
There were several Department of Public Works vehicles on scene at the time of the accident. It's unclear what project they were working on.
