City Officials Announce Plan for Summer Policing

This summer's policing plan in Milwaukee not only focuses on reducing crime, but improving the quality of life and building trust in the city's neighborhoods.

“All Milwaukeeans deserve a safe summer. I want people who live here and who visit here to be safe. We have to make sure we are doing everything we can,” said Mayor Barrett.

Barrett was joined by Police Chief Flynn and Common Council President Ashanti Hamilton this afternoon.

The mayor said police patrols will be enhanced and officers will work closely with neighborhood associations and block watches.

He said homicides and robberies are actually down this year from last while other types of crime are on the rise.
