MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – City leaders met Wednesday morning to celebrate the remodel of the Pick ‘n Save Midtown store in Milwaukee.
Store management says $2 million was invested into the location near 60th and Capitol. The store now has a hot food bar, expanded produce department, artisanal cheese section and a café. Mayor Tom Barrett, along with District 2 Alderman Cavalier Johnson, commended the store's dedication to the community.
“To see this commitment is gratifying because I know how many people want to have fresh fruit, have good food to eat for their kids,” Barrett said.
At the event, a $5,000 check was given to Habitat for Humanity as part of parent company Kroger’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative.
