MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With snow covering the ground, people are getting ready to deck the halls for Christmas.
CBS 58 News caught up with people making their Christmas tree purchases over the weekend at Grandpa Vern's Christmas Trees in Milwaukee.
"Balck Friday, we usually come out and get our Christmas tree and get the holiday seasons started. We found that if we wanted a larger tree, they usually disappear pretty fast so we've made it our habit to get out early right after Thanksgiving and get a 10-11 foot tree because they go fast and there aren't that many of them," said John Skavlem.
John might have the right idea. According to experts, we could have a Christmas tree shortage on our hands.
The National Christmas Tree Association says there was an oversupply of trees before the great recession but many growers left the business.
While they're not expecting to run out of trees, the prices could be a little steeper this year.
