Thursday was our coldest day since early January with highs in the single digits inland to mid teens lakeside.
Today will still be on the chilly side, but it won't be as brutal as Thursday. Wind will be lighter today, but temps only warm through the single digits and teens this morning and lower 20s this afternoon. Highs for the day will occur late this evening.
Temps continue to warm through the weekend and into early next week with highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s.
Dry weather is expected today and for most of the daylight hours on Saturday, but rain will move in by early evening. A little wet snow may mix in, but the main concern will be the cold pavement temps after the last two days. Pavement temps will be slower to warm compared to air temps, so when rain begins there may be some icy spots on roads. As the evening progresses, this will become less of a concern.
Showers taper off early Sunday morning, but another batch of light showers roll through late Sunday night into Monday. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App for the full forecast.
