MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is a healing place. Tuesday it was a party place too.
Kids and families partied with staff as the hospital celebrated its 125th birthday with picnic-style food, games, a photo booth, and giant birthday cake.
"Back in 1894, seven women had the vision to start a hospital that focused exclusively on children's care," Lori Gottwein of Children's Hospital said. "So that's what we're doing is recognizing, celebrating that event today."
Children's Hospital started with ten beds in a small house on Brady Street -- obviously they've come a long way since then.
Governor Tony Evers has declared Tuesday "Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Day".
