WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Friday, Oct. 18 is National Adoption Day. There was a special ceremony at the Waukesha County Juvenile Center to mark the day.
In Wisconsin, 7,000 children are in foster care at any one time waiting for their forever home.
"From my perspective its gratifying to see individuals who are willing to volunteer and step up and be part of the process to help these children get that forever family evolving out of some very challenging circumstances we see a very positive outcome on many occasions," said Judge Lloyd Carter, Waukesha County Circuit Court.
So far this year, 11 Waukesha County children in and out of home of home care have reached legal permanence through adoption.
Congratulations to all.
